What are Our Core Values?
Truth. In a world where truth is accepted as relative and where the gospel is distorted, it is imperative to maintain the truth of the Word of God.
(John 14:6)
Love. This is an overly defined word that has been given too many weird and wonderful definitions. Most are very self serving. However, love in God’s Kingdom is unconditional, selfless and is the umbrella that governs other attributes such as forgiveness and grace. (I Corinthians 13)
Grace. Those who have tasted the grace of God are most likely to extend grace to others. (Philippians 2:3-4)
Forgiveness. As God has forgiven us, so too will we forgive others.
(Matthew 6:12)
Purpose. We are to keep on track with the purpose God has placed on our hearts. To do anything else, we would violate the very mandate given to the church from the beginning.
(II Timothy 4:1-5)
Excellence. As someone pointed out, there is nothing pious about inefficiency. We glorify God in our lives and through our excellence in His service.
(I Corinthians 12:31)
Freedom. We have to discover all we can be in Christ and to discover all we can be to each other. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul mind and strength and love your neighbour as yourself.” (Mark 12:30-31)
Evangelism. “… you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
(Acts 1:8)
Discipleship. “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to reliable men, who will also be qualified to teach others.” (II Timothy 2:2)
